The hands behind the flour-dusted apron
Hello there, friend. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Cery (rhymes with cherry), and if you’re ever looking for me, I’m probably in the kitchen—up to my elbows in bread dough, humming an old tune, and trying to remember where I left my tea. Again.
I’m the voice behind Bramble Wine Cottage, where I share old-fashioned skills, from-scratch recipes, and a deep love for simple living. Around here, we believe in butter, full pantries, and the kind of meals that make people linger at the table.
A Bit About Me
I come from a long line of makers—seamstresses, cooks, crafters, and wildly resourceful women. My great-grandmother stitched clothes for pioneer families from a covered wagon. My grandmother made rodeo outfits. And I? I make sourdough and sausage and the occasional mess of blackberry jam.
I’m a fourth-generation seamstress, a spinner and weaver, a cheese-maker and bread-baker, and a firm believer that there’s magic in doing things the old way—especially when no one’s in a rush.
What You’ll Find Here
- Old-fashioned recipes that work in a modern kitchen
- Canning, fermenting, dehydrating and all manner of preserving the harvest
- Baking tutorials, from humble biscuits to fancy sourdough loaves
- Cozy stories, heartfelt how-tos, and maybe a few discoveries when things don’t go quite to plan
And through it all, a deep belief that this kind of slow, seasonal living is beautiful, attainable, and worthwhile—even if you don’t live on a homestead.
A Few Fun Things
- I love wearing an apron and have quite a collection.
- I love to knit while waiting for the canner to cool down..
- I firmly believe in snack boards for supper and tea before decisions.
- I’m currently having a love affair with a pottery wheel. (Don’t tell the canning jars.)
Thanks for pulling up a chair here at the Cottage.
I hope you’ll stay a while.
There’s always room at the table.
